The Kawasaki W175 is the latest model from the “W” family. Following the W800 and W250, the design of the W175 is made simple and traditional with classic proportions, delivering a timeless design. Although included in a segment which is dominated by sportsbikes and scooters, the W175 offers a classier alternative.

The W175’s peashooter-style muffler contributes to the retro image. The exhaust’s curved header pipe complements the design of the engine. The muffler’s clear, crisp exhaust note adds to rider enjoyment.
Powered by a 177 cc Single, the W175 offers a displacement advantage over 150cc-class rivals. Ample torque makes it easy to operate, offering a stress-free experience that lets riders focus on the ride. A 5-speed transmission and an engine balancer that tames unwanted vibrations contribute to a fun, comfortable ride.
A ø30 mm telescopic fork at the front is backed up by dual shocks at the rear. The front and rear suspension work with the rigid frame, providing good shock absorption for a comfortable ride while offering firm enough damping to enable fun riding.
Befitting a retro model, the W175 features 17” spoke wheels front and rear. The tyre tread pattern also contributes to the bike’s retro looks.
A front disc brake offers sure stopping power. A drum brake slows the rear, while adding to the retro looks.
Tuning of the highly rigid and highly durable frame contributes to the W175’s unhurried handling character. A product of both function and form, the semi- double cradle configuration also complements the retro styling, its simple design lending itself to customisation.
Simple instrumentation includes a classic analogue-style speedometer complemented by an odometer, trip meter and indicator lamps. Like the other models in the W family, a “W” emblem on the speedometer face adds a classy touch.
The W175’s elegantly curved fuel tank has the same design as that of the W250, contributing to the strong W family image. On the SE and Cafe models, knee grip pads add to the retro image.
Engine fins contribute to
the engine’s attractive appearance. All components of the engine are blacked out, creating a high-grade image. Silver bolts add a classy accent, as do the machined fins on the SE and Cafe models.
Thick cushioning on the double seat offers good comfort for both rider and passenger. The stepped seat design contributes to the standard W175’s retro looks. On the SE model, the seat features a tuck-and-roll design. On the Cafe model, a stylish two-person cafe seat further contributes to its chic style: the rear seat is thicker, emulating the shape of a single seat cover. The TR model’s seat matches the slimmer tank at the front, and curves up slightly at the rear.
In addition to its special cafe seat, the Cafe model is equipped with a meter visor, short-style rear fender, gold-coloured rear shocks (on some colours) and a chromed muffler guard, adding an extra touch of class.
The W175TR is a street scrambler model with distinctive styling. A narrow tank, upswept muffler, elongated suspension, and tyres with a multipurpose-style tread pattern give it an off-road flavour.
Befitting its W moniker, the W175 features a traditional, simple design similar to the W800 and W250, Kawasaki’s other authentic retro models. With a quality of materials and the fit-and-finish of a larger-class machine, the W175 stands out from the crowd.
